Giorgi AMIRANASHVILI

 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Giorgi Amiranashvili earned his PhD in Private Law from the Faculty of Law at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University in 2018. He has been a Staff Member of the Faculty of Law since 2010, and a Visiting Lecturer of the same Faculty since 2013. Giorgi Amiranashvili was elected to the position of Academic Assistant at the Private Law Department in 2016 for 4 years. He currently holds the position of Visiting Lecturer as well as Senior Specialist at the Department of Internationalization and Scientific Research at the Faculty of Law of the same University.

Giorgi Amiranashvili currently is an Associate Professor of the Faculty of Law at Guram Tavartkiladze Tbilisi Teaching University, and an Assistant Professor of the School of Law at Tbilisi Open University, as well as a Member of the Accreditation Expert Pool of the LELP – National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement. He was a Senior Research Scientist of the Scientific Research Institute of Law at European University from July 2020 through July 2021. 

Giorgi Amiranashvili is a Member of the Contemporary Private Law Institute at the Faculty of Law of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, as well as a Member of the Non-Profit Association “Friends of the Hamburg Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law” since 2015, a Member of the International Association of Consumer Law since 2020, and a Member of the Irish Society of Comparative Law (ISCL), as well as a Member of the Association for Law, Property & Society (ALPS) since 2021. He also serves as a Founding Member & Director of the NNLE – Center for Contemporary Labour Law since 2016, and as a Founding Member of the NNLE – Center for Classical and Contemporary Rhetoric Research since 2021.

Giorgi Amiranashvili has been conducting his doctoral research at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law and at the Harvard Law School Library in 2015, within the framework of the Scholarship Program for Visiting Fellows from Abroad, and State Grants for Financial Support of PhD Students. He conducted his research as a Van Calker Scholar at the Swiss Institute of Comparative Law in 2019. He was an Invited Scholar at the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT) in 2021.

His works are extensively published in local and foreign top-rated scientific editions and academic journals in the areas of private law, including civil law, property law, law of obligations, contract law, tort law, labour law, insurance law, competition law, consumer law, and civil procedure law. Giorgi Amiranashvili has been coordinating publication projects at both the local and international levels in the field of labour law since 2011. He was the Editor-in-Chief of the TSU LAW REVIEW in 2016-2019 and he is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the CONTEMPORARY LABOUR LAW REVIEW. Giorgi Amiranashvili has been participating in a number of inter-regional, republican, local, international, inter-University and university conferences, including the 2nd International Conference on Vulnerable Workers and Precarious Work in a Changing World, held at Middlesex University Business School (London, UK), where he presented a paper about legislative guarantees for workers with disabilities in Georgia, which was later awarded with Caroline Adams Essay Prize 2016.

Giorgi Amiranashvili earned an LLB Degree in 2011 from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and an MA Degree in 2013 from the same university.
